Flat and neighborhood description
Difficult to dream of a better emplacement for discovering Paris : the Opera apartment is in the heart of the city and only a five-minute walk from the Louvre ! Thanks to numerous metro stations nearby (Pyramides, Palais-Royal, Bourse, Opéra), you can also get to most of the touristic spots throughout Paris with relative ease – only a 15 minute journey to the Champs Elysées, the Notre Dame cathedral, the Orsay Museum, the Latin quarter, etc. Life in this neighborhood is also one of the major assets of the apartment. It’s very quiet and peaceful, very secure in daytime as at night, and you’ll find many shops in which to make your purchases (supermarkets, bakeries, small grocery stores) as well as hundreds of restaurants in which to discover French gastronomy – whatever your budget ! And lastly, the double glazed windows will ensure you a restful sleep without the least of perturbing noises. Incredible when you realize it’s all right here in the center of Paris.
To best meet your requirements, this apartment was entirely redone at the beginning of the year (January 2011). A bathroom which can hold its own to that of any grand hotel, a fully equipped kitchen, a beautiful hard wood floor, furniture that I personally selected with the greatest care, give this apartment a very high standing. Not to forget, of course, are the services included, of which unlimited Internet and phone access with no extra charge. If you compare the tariff with that of nearby hotels, the quality/price ratio is clearly exceptional.
If ever you’d like to come by four to visit Paris, keep in mind that the Molière apartment (for two people) is just a stone’s throw away, only a few tens of meters.

We enjoyed our apartment in the Opera area of Paris very much. It was within walking distance of many attractions and walking is the best way to enjoy Paris.

In this area, it’s the bakery you just can’t miss. The bread is made the old way, and the Viennese buns are of high quality ; also, they offer a large array of pastries, each of them just as appetizing as the next one. The only problem is you won’t be able to choose ! An address not to miss under any circumstances.

It’s simple : you’ll find here absolutely everything you could ever need. Monoprix is a high-end chain supermarket with arrays of fine food, personal hygiene, make-up and much more. The products are varied and of really good quality. Another asset is that the store is open from Monday through Friday from 9am to 10pm and on Saturday until 9pm.

HISTORY
Did you know it ?
The rue des Moulins gets its name from the little hill nearby, "butte des Moulins" – situated right in the middle of Paris. It was entirely destroyed to make way for the avenue de l’Opéra at the end of the 19th century. The enormous quantity of debris collected served to level out the Champ de Mars.
