1. How to rent an apartment ?
The booking process is very simple and fast. As soon as you have selected an apartment and that I have confirmed to you its availability according to your trip to Paris, I invite you to follow the validation steps. With ParisFlatRent, you can confirm your reservation in a few minutes only.

2. At what time of day are you connected to the live chat ?
For your information, on weekdays from 8:30 am to 7:30 pm, we’re available to answer all your questions, via « chat ». During the weekend, we only connect once in a while, so it’s better to send an email if you need a quick response.
NOTE : These hours are indicative.
Should you need to reference the time difference with Paris, you can do so by logging on to the following website :
www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/city.html?n=195

3. Are your apartments well maintained ?
All of our flats are maintained with great care to insure a high level of satisfaction from our customers (consult our guest-book to read their comments) and make sure our company will last through out time. The walls are freshened every two years and our mattresses are regularly replaced to make your sleep comfortable.
You also need to know that to make sure you get a realistic view of our flats, the pictures of the website are updated every year! One of our biggest satisfaction is to hear customers say : "Everything is like the picture" !

4. Is the flat already insured ?
All my flats are insured for holiday rental. The insurance covers for the apartment along with all the lodger's goods in case of a disaster (explosion, water damage, fire, etc). Furthermore, it will take in charge rental liabilities and any claims made by neighbors.

On arrival, a security deposit (check or cash accepted) of an amount equivalent to 150 euros (all currencies accepted) will be asked in order to insure equipments and furniture during your stay. It will only be paid in if the lodger has caused any damage. If the cost of damages exceeds the security deposit, the lodger is committed to settle the loss after inventory of fixtures. In return, ParisFlatRent is committed to prove the necessity of the said amount for the reconditioning of the accommodation.

5. How to pay ?
To validate your booking, an account of 20% of the total cost of rental fee must be paid either by bank transfer or Paypal. Full settlement of rental fee (80%) must be paid at the check-in when keys of flat are delivered, in euros.

6. How much does a bank transfer or a Paypal deposit cost ?
When you proceed to the account payment (20% of rental fee) by bank transfer or Paypal, any bank fee due to this operation will be at your expense. For international transfers, the amount charged by your bank will be around 20 euros for this transaction. For Paypal, the costs are systematically calculated the following way and must be added to the total amount : 3.9% + 0.25 euros cents per transaction.

7. What are your references ?
Since 2004, we have welcomed thousands of people in our apartments. You can read their reviews in our guestbook. Do not hesitate to contact them to insure yourself of our professionalism and irreproachable quality of our apartments.

8. Which apartment is best situtated for you ?
This is the first question, and we hope the only one, that we cannot answer ! All of our apartments are situated right in the heart of Paris, and they are all in prestigious areas : Louvre, Marais, Montorgueil. Whichever apartment you choose, you will be within walking distance to visit Paris, and you will also be near public transport whether it be metro, or bus, for excursions further away, for instance the Eiffel Tower, or Montmartre (these touristic sites are a bit far from the center). Keep in mind that you will always find all kinds of shops and grocery stores close to your apartment, which makes day to day living much easier and simpler.

9. What is the minimum/maximum length for a rental ?
There is no minimum/maximum length for a rental with us. However, sometimes we can not respond favorably to enquiries for very short stays when dates are not convenient for us.
For very short stays (less than 6 nights), rates indicated per night can be increased in order to compensate fix cleaning costs. On the other hand, from two weeks onwards, you will benefit from preferential rates, graded according to the length of your stay in Paris.

10. What day can we arrive ?
You are free to arrive or leave any day of the week (7D/7), week-end included.

11. What time can we arrive/leave the flat ?
The rental starts at noon and ends at the latest at 11:00 am on the last day indicated on your contract. The handing in of keys will be done at the apartment, at the time chosen by the lodger (no restrictions), in accord with the above conditions. You can of course arrive later (even late at night) and/or leave earlier on day of departure.

If however, you wished to arrive earlier or leave later than the time indicated, we would try to find a convenient solution for everyone. And if it's not possible, there are checkrooms available in several train stations in Paris.

12. Do you practice "double booking" ?
No ! ParisFlatRent insures your booking as soon as the rental contract has been sent. When your "Final agreement" has been received, your apartment will be retained for 4 days to enable you to return the contract and proceed to the account payment.
In return, we will ask of you to respect your engagement and not make any other bookings on different competitors sites once you have blocked one of our apartments.

13. How to get to the flat from the airport ?
From every train station or Parisian airport, we drew up for you the advised way to get to the flat with public transports (train, bus, underground). We will give you all details with your booking confirmation.

14. How long does it take from CDG airport ?
On average, from the moment your plane lands in Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport (CDG) count three hours to get to your flat. If this time seems excessive - the trip doesn't take more than an hour with public transport to get to the center of Paris - experience shows that administrative formalities at the airport (getting off the plane, retrieving luggages, customs check, access to the train station, etc.) are usually long, in particular for international flights.

If you arrive from Orly airport, a similar amount of time will be needed to get to your flat. If you'd rather take a taxi you can save up to 20 minutes on this estimation, except on rush hours (from 8:30 am till 19:30 pm) where it can take longer than the estimated time! Favor public transports if you're not too tired of course...

15. Where do we handover the keys ?
Whatever time you may arrive, we will always be there to welcome you personally at your apartment. We will handover the keys before presenting the equipments and how they work (Internet, telephone, television, stove, etc). We will also share with great pleasure our good addresses in the area (restaurants, closest supermarket, etc) and will give numerous practical informations to make a success of your trip (tips for public transports, exhibitions, etc.).

16. Is it possible to get a second key to the apartment ?
No, we have only two keys for each apartment, and we must keep one available for quick access in case of loss or any other technical problem.

17. What are the cancellation terms ?
Any cancellations done 2 months previous your set arrival will be reimbursed 50% of the account when booking (or 10% of total rental cost). The bank or PayPal charges to this refund are at the lodgers expense. Pass this limit, the account will be entirely paid in by ParisFlatRent.

You can easily subscribe a travel insurance (cancellation, medical assistance) to the following address :
http://www.mondial-assistance.com

18. Is it possible to change our dates of stay ?
You can change the dates of your stay up to two months before the date of arrival within our availability free of charge. Passed this time, the deposit already paid (20% of rent) will not be affected to your new reservation unless we can re-rent the flat to another person to dates originally planed. In other cases, the deposit will be entirely retained by ParisFlatRent.

19. Are taxes included in rental fee ?
For better understanding, all rates are tax included, and cover for your water, electricity and heating consumption along with the cleansing of apartment after your departure.

20. Does the VAT apply for this rental ?
No ! In France, the VAT is not applicable for holiday rentals who don't propose - like ParisFlatRent - breakfast or daily cleaning. You won't be paying any VAT on your rental fee which is therefor tax included.

21. Are animals authorized ?
Alas, pets, even the smallest ones, are not allowed in our apartments for hygienic reasons and also to prevent possible allergies from other lodgers.

22. Do the apartments have a safe ?
No, but there’s no need to worry. Our apartments are situated in the safest areas of Paris. Ever since the launch of our website, we’ve never once had to deal with theft in any of them. You can therefore rest easy as for your personal items during your stay. To be noted is that each apartment is equipped with an anti "breaking and entering" device and each building is protected by a digital code.

23. What linen are we supposed to bring ?
Linen will be handed over on your arrival. You will find bed sheets, one bath towel for every lodger, hand wiper, etc. For stays superior to two weeks, the entire linen will be replaced every fortnight.

24. Do you provide soap and shampoo ?
No, we do not provide neither soap nor shampoo. However, if you do not wish to load yourself with these products and risk it could leak in your suitcase (who has never lived this sad experience...), we recommend you buy them in Paris. All supermarkets sell very good quality soap and shampoo !

25. Where can we wash our clothes ?
You will find close to every apartment, a self service laundrette. Safe, clean and economical, you will be able to wash and dry your clothes in less than two hours.

26. Air-conditioning ?
Like most of parisian properties, our apartments are not equipped with an air-conditioning system. However, given the climate and temperatures of Paris, the use of air-conditioning is absolutely not necessary even in summer. To know more about the weather in Paris, I invite you to consult our section Paris Weather. In any case, a fan is at your disposal in each flat.

27. What does the "1st floor" mean in France ?
In Paris, the ground floor of buildings is very often dedicated to shops or shared parts such as letter boxes or dustbins. The first floor therefor is situated above the ground floor, the equivalent of the second floor in the United States ! Thus, the windows of the flats situated on the first floor will not be facing the pavement.
